Biological Research Division

Biological Research Division is the largest division in BCSIR Laboratories, Dhaka which conducts research and development activities in the field of Biological science in the following sections: Applied Botany, Tissue Culture, Soil, Agronomy and Environment, Plant Pathology, Plant Physiology and Zoology.

An interesting reliance on the use of medicinal plants in the industrialized society has been traced to the extraction and development of several drugs and chemotherapeutics from these plants as well as from traditionally used rural herbal remedies. The herbal products today symbolize safety in contrast to the synthetics that are regarded as unsafe to human & environment. Herbal medicine is one of the most remarkable uses of plant based bio-diversity.
