The BCSIR Laboratories, formerly known as East Regional Laboratories, was established by the renowned scientist Dr. Muhammad Qudrat-i-Khuda in 1955. BCSIR, the country’s lone multidisciplinary research institute located in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi & Savar; which comprises different institutes and divisions. Among them BCSIR Laboratories, Dhaka is the largest and pioneer multi-disciplinary research unit established in 1955 with an aim to help the industrial sector as well as scientific development through its continuous research & development activities. Scientists of this laboratory are engaged in research with the aim of developing the technological advancement and self-reliant industrial development. The R&D activities of this unit cover a large number of areas ranging from fine chemicals to macromolecules and development of medicinal and aromatic products, biotechnology, tissue culture etc. With the turning of the page of time the laboratory has grown into the country’s most modern equipped laboratory, which is second to none, that can cater for the rapidly growing demand of research and development in the Industrial Sector.
